Are we a Fossil, and of Facings
Presented by Gibney Dance Center, March 9–12, 2016
Molly Poerstel’s Are we a Fossil, and of Facings proposes a dance in the round imbedded in a dance for the proscenium. Situating an audience inside the belly of the work, Poerstel offers complex rhythmic structures and movement patterns from which form calcifies and disintegrates. With performative agency, precision and skill, dancers reveal courageous bodies in transformation.
